I started on a Jared Takes a Wife from Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville.com site. I need your opinion on which fabric to use for the center of the star in my blocks.
Center is the same as the star "arms"
Star center is the same as the star points
Star center is a lighter shade from the star arms
(sashing is a darker version of this fabric)
Please leave your comment as to your choice. I need to start cutting centers in a day or two, so your fast response would be appreciated. Thanks!
Personally, I like the middle one. It is bold and striking. It gives more dimension to the other colors.
ReplyDeleteWow Laurel...that's a tough one! really....it's a toss up between the all gold and the "same as the star-arms" fabric.
ReplyDeleteMy pieces are partialy pieced....not quite to blocks yet though
Just to be different,I like the last one! I like them all really but when I looked at the last one I thought wow.
ReplyDeleteI like the gold center, the same as the star points.
ReplyDeleteI think the gold center make the star really shine in the middle. It looks great.
ReplyDeletei really like the gold in the middle. the other two break up the star too much and the gold really makes it stand out as a star.
ReplyDeleteI really really like the gold in the middle, the others are too detracting from the star to me.
ReplyDeletethe third one is eye pleasing.
ReplyDeleteThey are all nice, but my favorite is definitely the 3rd one! ....just because it's most pleasing to my eye. Very pretty color combination! Sally in SC
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for #3.
ReplyDeletethe third one!
ReplyDeleteother proposal: redwork in the center, any matching color.
Loved the combination of red, green and gold ;^)

When you look at the block, determine where your eye goes first and if you want it to zero in on that point only. If you like where your eye goes, choose that one. I like the middle block because I see the whole block, not just the middle square which is where my eye goes when I look at 1 and 3. Just MHO! :>)
ReplyDeleteI like the gold one...or try a red center.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one as it breaks up the star, but then the second one is nice as well. Not too keen on the third. The different fabric in the middle is distracting. Very nice colors altogether. Good job!
ReplyDeletethe gold really sparks the star.
ReplyDeleteI vote for #3!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the gold
